The Southern Saskatchewan Area Service Committee supports the groups in the Area to spread the message of NA to addicts who still suffer. Area Service’s work and dealings among its members and subcommittees are guided by the SSASC Guidelines, A Guide to Local Services in Narcotics Anonymous, the Twelve Traditions of Narcotics Anonymous, and the Twelve Concepts for NA Service.
Area Service’s subcommittees provide the following services:
Hospitals and Institutions carries the message of recovery to people in facilities like correctional and treatment centers who do not have regular access to NA meetings in the community.
Outreach helps new groups get started and established groups improve their connections to the larger NA fellowship. It also supports addicts in institutions with access to outside meetings.
Public Relations arranges for NA members to speak in the community and provides information about NA to the community. It also maintaAins a phone line so addicts in the Area seeking recovery can speak to active members And get information about meetings and other NA Services. For more information, Contact Us
Activities organizes events dances, picnics, potlucks, campouts, special speakers meetings, etc. to enhance the sense of community in the N.A. fellowship in the Area and to raise funds to help carry the message of N.A. See Events for details about upcoming activities.
Literature supports groups in the Area by stocking and providing NA-approved literature. Order forms and price lists are available on the Literature page.
Convention organizes and hosts the Area’s annual convention which brings the NA fellowship together to celebrate of recovery and raises funds to help carry the NA message. See Events for details.
